Today at school we started to work on a new theme, "Enviromental Changes". We read some texts about it, from a folder we got. The texts we read was "This drought may never break", which was about a drought that lasts very long.
We also read another text called "In Alaska, it's polar bears vs. oil wells". It was about polar bears, and how they might get extinct by year 2030.
Or even sooner. I thought this was a very interesting text, because I didn't think it was that serious, and that they might get extinct that soon. A lot of people think that it's no big deal if this happens, but I see it more as a symbolic thing. The polar bear might not be a very useful animal, but that doesn't mean that it should vanish.
I don't think that the climate changes is extremely serious as the news says, but I still thing that everyone should think about the enviroment, because it's important.

King Arthur
Last thursday we watched King Arthur in English-class at school. The movie is about history and politics, and time is set in 400 AD. The main charachter in the movie is Arthur. In the beginning in the movie we see him as a little boy, but shortly after that we jump many years later in time.
Arthur and other knights have worked for the Empire in many years, and now they want to be discharged from their service. They are sent on a final mission to save a Roman family. But their chief Marius, don't want to leave. Arthur finds out that Marius has captured a bunch of Pagans behind a brickwall.
Arthur decide that he want to take everyone back to Hadrians Wall, including Marius' family. But on their way they are attacked by the enemy, the Saxons. Arthur and the other knights decide that they don't want to run anymore, so they fight back.
In this battle, many of the Saxons dies. Arthur and his team used arrows of fire to attack the Saxons, in attempt to break the ice, so their enemies will die. But this doesn't quite work the way they wanted it to. One of Arthurs people then decides to go on a suicide mission. He runs over to the Saxons and burst a hole in the ice with his weapon. Because of this, many of the bad guys fall under the ice, and dies. Arthurs people then return back to their home.
I think the movie was progressive, and the story moved forward all the time. But that doesn't really change the fact that it was rather boring. The effects aren't allways that good either. The bloodspills look like flying dirt, and some of the camera-angles was confusing and fast paced. But some of the other effects were good, like the flames and the fire.
The directors could have focused a little more on the interesting parts in the movie. Like the part were Arthur drawes the sword out of the stone, and the other flashbacks. But other than that, the movie was good, though little boring at times.
